I am approaching my mid-late twenties and already I can feel my brain finalizing its development. Recently, I have been learning to embrace living in the present, so I try to find time to be outside every day; be it with a good book or a podcast. I got a kindle in August of 2022 and ever since I have been on a reading journey. At the start of 2023, I set a reading goal of 35 books. I am admittedly a little behind, but plowing through them nonetheless. I find that reading has absolutely helped satiate my boredom, but I've been feeling like I now need a creative outlet. So here goes writing! I used to write creative stories in school growing up, just from being observant and allowing my imagination to run wild. As I have gotten older, it has become harder and harder to both stay consistent and actually come up with anything to write about. I find I have the same problem with painting/drawing. I absolutely love to do it, but I have the hardest time in the world coming up with the actual content itself. Working on living and appreciating the present has actually helped with this creative block. I am trying to not focus so much on what I cannot control and staying on a pre-planned “future path”. It’s so stressful. Life is meant to color outside of the lines! My wonderful boyfriend, Kevin, is actually the one who reminded me how important it is to live in the present. I am working on going with the flow and moving with the changing tides. It's great to have a concept of what you want to do with your life, but that is not set in stone. Nothing bad will happen to you if you deviate from the path. I feel like I’m rambling, but honestly this is the whole point of this journey for me. I will eventually come up with pieces that are more streamlined and focused, but that comes with practice. So this is me simply starting out on my writing path. If you stumble on this and have anything I could write about, let me know!
